Government Motors

Government Motors
The latest nickname for G.M.

Shortly before General Motors filed for bankruptcy, The Times observed:

In better times, many employees of General Motors called their company “Generous Motors” because of its rich benefits.
Now G.M. may stand for something else: Government Motors.
Under plans to rescue the automaker, G.M. will receive $30.1 billion in federal aid and the government will realize a 60 percent stake in the company.
